Turn and Face the Change

Why Should You Attend?

We are all aware that we are starting to get back to some semblance of normality but uncertainty still exists within many of the activities that we undertake, which includes attending conferences.

We have taken the decision to proceed with an in person event as we believe we are all keen to meet up in person and OEC wants to provide that opportunity and meeting place. However, in order to ensure this can happen, we do need your support by purchasing tickets now so we can plan with certainty and ensure we put on an excellent event that marks the coming together of the market participants after many months of being separated.

Onshore Energy Conference 2021 will take place in London on Tuesday 2nd November 2021.

Energy Crisis Redux: Repeat of the 1970's or a Short, Bumpy Road to Green?
The global economy's emergence from the COVID-19 pandemic suffered major setbacks in 2021 as snarled supply chains worldwide stymied production, wreaked havoc in labor markets and sparked a sharp acceleration in inflation. Energy markets are among those most profoundly impacted. Although the world's energy supply is much more diversified today than during the energy crises of the 1970's, the financial pain to consumers and businesses is no less real in 2021 than it was half a century ago. Soaring oil, gas and coal prices bely the -Age of Energy Abundance- in place a few short years ago. Yet despite hundreds of billions of dollars in investment in low carbon future, the world today remains suprisingly vulnerable to the vagaries of energy economics and politics, not unlike those of decades past. This presentation will examine the current state of global energy markets, identify the sources of its current turmoil, seek lessons from the past and identify likely paths forward.
